Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. School of AI does not sell your personal data — period. We use data only to give you the best possible learning experience.
We collect information you provide directly, including: • Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), role (student/teacher/admin), grade level, and preferred learning style. • Profile and learning data: quiz scores, course progress, session history, AI tutor conversations, and adaptive learning profiles. • Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, and clickstream data. • Communications: messages sent to support or through the Platform. We also collect information automatically, including IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and cookies.
We use collected information to: • Provide and personalize the Platform, including adaptive AI tutoring and course recommendations. • Communicate with you about your account, updates, and promotions (you may opt out). • Analyze usage patterns to improve features and educational effectiveness. • Process payments and prevent fraud. • Comply with legal obligations. • Generate anonymized, aggregated research insights about learning patterns (never identifying individual users).
School of AI takes children's privacy seriously. • We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. • Parents and guardians may request to review, correct, or delete their child's information at any time by contacting privacy@schoolofai.com. • We do not display targeted advertising to users identified as under 13. • For institutional or school accounts serving minors, we operate under a Data Processing Agreement with the institution, and the institution bears responsibility for obtaining appropriate parental consent. If we discover we have collected information from a child under 13 without consent, we will delete it promptly.
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these circumstances: • Service providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processors, email delivery) who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements. • AI providers: AI models process your tutoring inputs to generate responses. We use Anthropic's Claude. Inputs may be processed by their systems subject to their privacy policies. • Legal compliance: We disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety. • Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred with appropriate notice. • With your consent: We share information for any other purpose with your explicit permission.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account: • Your profile and personal information will be deleted within 30 days. • Anonymized, aggregated learning data (not linked to you) may be retained for research. • Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting privacy@schoolofai.com.
We implement industry-standard security measures including: • Passwords hashed using bcrypt with salting. • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit. • Access controls limiting employee access to personal data. • Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments. However, no system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you. • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data. • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten"). • Restrict or object to certain processing. • Receive your data in a portable format. • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@schoolofai.com. We will respond within 30 days. EU/EEA users: we comply with GDPR and you may lodge complaints with your local supervisory authority.
We use cookies and similar technologies for: • Authentication: Keeping you signed in securely. • Preferences: Remembering your settings and learning preferences. • Analytics: Understanding how users interact with the Platform (using privacy-respecting analytics). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Platform functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
The Platform may contain links to external websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
School of AI is based in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. We comply with applicable cross-border data transfer requirements. EU/EEA users: we use Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by email or prominent notice on the Platform at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
